Baldwin's new Professional Series has a piano for all budgets and every requirement, and the BP148 makes a great case in point. If you always wanted a genuine grand piano of unparalleled Baldwin quality but thought you didn't quite have the space to accommodate one, the new BP148 just might be the answer to your dreams. At exactly 4'10", the BP148 is one of the smallest grand pianos in its class, but its compact dimensions never equate to a downsized sound. This diminutive grand easily delivers the full, rich tone you'd expect from a full-sized instrument and retains the impressive presence and prestige of having a legendary Baldwin grand piano in your living space.

Classic design, handcrafted features to last you a lifetime

Any time you buy a Baldwin grand piano you expect a beautiful and classic cabinet design along with warm tone and exceptionally responsive action. These features are in abundance in the new BP148. To ensure integrity, each part of this grand is carefully chosen for its uniformity and performance. The soundboard and rib material are made from solid Alaskan Sitka spruce, while the bridge is made from hard maple and precision notched by hand. Each key is crafted of solid Alaskan Sitka spruce with ebony wood sharp keys, and individually weighted for the most responsive action possible. Abel German hammers sound high-quality Roslau strings, and a 17-ply hard maple pin block offers a lifetime of precision performance. The three traditional pedals—soft, sustain and sostenuto—are constructed of solid brass, and the fallboard utilizes a slow-close mechanism for a smooth, sure motion when in use. This makes it easier and safer for younger players.

The best fit and finish for you

A grand piano naturally becomes the focal point of any room, and if your space is limited, you'll want to fill it with the finest piano built. The Baldwin BP148 is the best in its class. Find it at your nearest authorized Baldwin piano dealer.

Specifications
INNER & OUTER RIMS
Baldwin grand pianos feature a two-piece, continuously bent rim design, constructed of the finest hard maple. This enhances both the structural attributes of the piano and its sound characteristics, helping to produce full, rich tone.
SAND CAST PLATE
Baldwin plates are made using a sand cast process which results in high-strength, stress-free castings. This sand cast process, combined with the use of premium iron ore, produces a plate that does not contribute unwanted resonance, thereby helping to create the classic "Baldwin Sound."
SOUNDBOARD
To ensure a soundboard of consistently superior quality, Baldwin selects only the finest solid Alaskan Sitka spruce available. A time-tested, traditional design contributes to the responsive character of the soundboard, providing outstanding tonal quality.
BRIDGES & RIBS
Baldwin's BP148 bridge is constructed of hand-notched hard maple. This design contributes to the sustaining tonal quality of the Baldwin piano. Ribs, crafted of premium solid Alaskan Sitka spruce, are hand selected and matched to each soundboard for maximum stability.
BALDWIN STRINGS
Baldwin strings, made by Roslau, provide consistently rich and detailed fundamental tones and harmonic overtones.
PINBLOCK
The BP148 pinblock consists of 17 plies of hard maple, one of the most durable hardwoods. By alternating the grain direction of each ply, tuning pins are snugly held. The plies are joined with a waterproof adhesive, so the integrity of the Baldwin pinblock is not adversely affected by humidity.
ACTION
Consisting of more than 7,500 parts, the Grand action features the exceptionally responsive touch that professional players prefer. Baldwin only uses premium hammers to ensure world-class, note-to-note consistency and excellent tonal range.
KEYS & KEYBED
Baldwin keybeds are constructed of cross-grained hardwoods. This design ensures long-term dimensional stability. Baldwin keys feature all-hardwood reinforcement parts. Sharp keys have a refined radius for superb feel.
FINISHES
High-polish Ebony (HPE), High-polish Mahogany (HPM), High-polish Walnut (HPW), and High-polish White. (HPWH)
